Invited speakers

Keynote speaker: Kepa Sarasola, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, the University of the Basque Country.

Kepa is one of the main leaders of IXA, a research group working on Natural Language Processing. The group was formed in 1988 with the aim of developing basic computational resources for Basque. Their products include a spelling checker (Xuxen), a machine translation system (Matxin), Basque Wordnet (BasWN), morphologically annotated corpus (Corpus of Science and Tchnology) and a syntactically annotated corpus (EPEC). These have all proved useful tools to promote the use of the Basque langauge.
